consider ideas which fall outside their programmes if they think these to be of particular interest to them and they have the potential to be truly innovative.

GRANT SIZE As a guide, grants made by the Foundation rarely exceed £15,000. The Foundation does not give grants in response to general fundraising appeals or towards the simple continuation of existing services.

During the last seventeen years, the Pépinières Européennes pour jeunes artistes have fostering and supporting promotion and mobility of young artists amongst the European artistic scene.

The Pépinières launches a new mobility programme for the period 2008-2009, offering more than 50 residency opportunities between September 2008 and September 2009 in a diverse and wide range of artistic fields, aiming to reach new audiences.

The program addresses various artistic movements within a young generation of artists. It offers a wide range of opportunities for artistic residencies and is developed in partnership with a large number of partner organizations. The program includes three types of residency projects: open art programme, artshare, and artventure.

Focusing on the symptoms of  (anti-)nationalism and the critique of nationalism in contemporary art  practice, we invite art professionals, especially curators, theoreticians  and art historians, but also artists, who have been dealing with the issue  and related topics in their previous practice to participate, to share

The Aesthetica Annual Creative Works Competition will champion new talent in the genres of visual arts, photography, poetry and fiction.

Details of the competition:
- The competition will accept entries of creative writing (poetry and fiction), artwork and photography.
- Each section will have one winner that will receive a prize of £500 and a subscription to Aesthetica Magazine.
- Winners and runners-up will be featured in the Aesthetica Annual, which will be a book, available from Borders stores nationwide.
- Entry allows the submission of either five images of artwork, three short stories (up to 2000 words each), or five poems (up to 40 lines each).
- The entry fee for the Aesthetica Annual Creative Works Competition is £10.

The Clore Performing Arts Awards fund performing arts education initiatives aimed at children and young people (aged 0 to 18) across the UK. The Awards will fund education programmes that cover every aspect of the performing arts including opera, dance, music, musical theatre, the spoken word and theatre. The following are eligible to apply:

- Registered charities
- Limited companies
- Early years settings, primary, middle and secondary schools, sixth-form colleges, SEN schools
- Pupil Referral Units
- Voluntary youth organisations
- Professional and amateur arts organisations

Applicants must be able to demonstrate both artistic excellence and fully participatory experiences for young people. The Awards will fund project costs ranging from £1,000 to £10,000.

Nationwide Community & Heritage Awards recognise the thousands of people who give their time and energy to improve the life of members of the community. Initially three regional winners in each of the categories (young people, groups, individuals) will be selected, making a total of nine community winners and nine heritage winners in each of the twelve regions. The 216 regional winners will each receive an award, along with £50 dining out vouchers for individuals or £100 for groups.

From each region, three community and three heritage national finalists will receive an award, vouchers to the value of £250 and a £500 donation to the charity or cause of their choice, presented at the regional presentations.

Community Cash Awards are grants of up to £5,000 to help young people set up a project that will benefit their community. You just have to come up with an idea for a project that will improve life in a local community in the UK. Maybe a new basketball court, a music studio, a youth club, sex education workshops in schools, a youth advisory board, even a local magazine. Anyone who is aged 14 to 16 and is in school but struggling, or aged 16 to 25 and unemployed or working less than 16 hours a week are eligible to apply.

Projects must:
- be run and managed by people between the ages of 14 and 25;
- clearly benefit the local community;
- benefit the people running the project;
- be a new or developing project.

The following are not eligible:
- formal groups or organisations;
- expeditions or overseas travel;
- fundraising activities for charity;
- trips and outings, unless they have educational value.

Funding of up to £1,000 is available for 14 to16 year olds and up to £5,000 is available for those aged 16 to 25.

We are seeking 50 paintings and/or drawings to be shown as part of a mini-exhibition within the Dark Matter  Group show taking place at Co-Prosperity Sphere.. The subject of the work is up to you. We are seeking work by artists that ARE NOT represented by a gallery or dealer. In fact we hope you never even went to art school. But don't let that dissuade you.

If you have work that is about six sq ft or less please send us an email and an image of the work. We will contact you to let you know if we can put your work in the show.

The work will be hung salon style as part of an exhibition of creative dark matter.
