Chancery Stone is the author of the rapidly-approaching-legendary DANNY Quadrilogy. Denounced in some quarters as "sick" and "disgustingly perverse", it tells the story of a Cumbrian farming family falling apart under the weight of family secrets, and explores such diverse topics as incest, child abuse, sex addiction, murder and revenge.
Chancery Stone was born in East Kilbride, child of communist parents with a lapsed catholic heritage, and the unhappy repression that often goes with it. Her huge four volume opus is based on her own family history and borrows freely from traditions of Jacobean tragedy, hard-boiled crime thrillers and 'erotic' works such as the Marquis de Sade, all told in the style of a fast-moving blockbuster.
She also runs a regular, and controversial, blog in which she talks about writing, films, gender politics, popular culture, and just about everything in between.
