IDEASPARK Centre for Design Innovation, at the Robert Gordon University, aims to cultivate and promote the multiplicity, value and vitality of design in the North East of Scotland through the development of collaborative activities and projects which put creativity, design and innovation at the very heart of them. Already established as a vibrant, buoyant economy, the centre seeks to build on the success of the regions creative industries with an enterprising and diverse programme that aims to maximise the exploitation of the our knowledge-base. We’ve got big ideas and are looking forward to:

• Supporting cross-discipline collaborative work between the Faculty and industry via projects which have innovation and design as the meeting point
• Stimulating and inspiring new research and development between industry and the University
• Providing professional development and training for companies who want to employ design at the heart of their business strategy
• Engendering the development of design networks within the local sector and outwith to the international design community

IDEASPARK looks to assist the creative and cultural evolution of the region using approaches that start at a grassroots level. Long-term results are unlikely to stop at economic growth. Beyond that, we see creative innovation nurturing opportunities for individuals, graduates and whole communities in ways that bring countless benefits to all those who want to be involved.

We’re very excited about the coming year when the IDEASPARK programme will be focused on raising design-awareness amongst industry and encouraging the strategic use of creative innovation through the development of flagship collaborations and an industry-focused programme of events and seminars.
