Creative Cultures is a Scottish registered charity No. SC037834. We are here to help the Creative Sectors of the North East of Scotland communicate with each other and their audiences to create an open and transparent environment in which to talk about and support creative practices. Our remit covers all creative sectors; Craft, Design, Education, Enterprise, Music, Performing arts, Visual Arts and the Written word. We wish to help our creative community realise their potential and promote the professional work on a local, national and international levels.
We believe that the North East of Scotland has every right to belong on the world's stage of excellence in creative practices, come and join us!
There are four main "services" that Creative Cultures provides for the creative practitioners of the North East of Scotland. They are:
A What's on guide for Aberdeen City & Shire
With these services, Creative Cultures aims to be a crucial element in any creative practitioners' work. We provide tools to communicate with your audience and fellow practitioners, to share and access creative opportunities. Creative Cultures is an excellent resource for any Creative practitioner.
Below you will find a regularly updated list of opportunities for creative practitioners. From competitions to awards and bursaries, jobs and residencies, Creative Cultures Scotland aims to provide the creative community of the North East of Scotland (and beyond!) an extensive list of opportunities to sustain their practices. Currently a wordpress blog - but we will be using our own system very soon.
Our free online directory offers creative organisations and practitioners well-connected web space. Even if you have your own website, having a CCS profile will help get your name & work seen, for more information, please visit the directory & join pages!
One of the most successful aspects of our service, are the regular networking events we facilitate, working with other venues and service providers. We see networking as an essential way for the creative community to promote their own practice as well as finding out first hand what is going on in the North East of Scotland, culturally. We've had many great stories about new partnerships & work coming out of networking events, so check out the networking section for more information on past present and future events!
The Creative Cultures "what's on" guide is created by tapping into many online events feeds & blogs. We aim to represent as much of the cultural activity within Aberdeen & the Shire, if you'd like to contribute to the content, please email us (info@creativeculturescotland.co.uk). Visit the what's on page for more information and the list itself.
Creative Cultures Scotland are supported by Aberdeen City Council and The Fifth Business. If your organisation would like to work in partnership with us, or if you think that the charitable work Creative Cultures Scotland provides is something you would like to fund in any way, please contact us!
Creative Cultures Scotland are always looking to help promote excellence in the North East Scottish Creative industries and arts. If you would like the opportunity to feature on our website as a case study / example of best practice...or just share in your success, get in touch with us and we will talk about the possibility of including your work here.
